The third holiday programme for the children of YTL employees was organised on 20 August 2018. It was well attended by over 40 children aged 5-12 years for another day of fun free educational activities including craft, science, speech and drama, ukulele and games. The event for the day kick started with icebreakers and games run by our own YTL scholars. The children had so much fun getting to know one another and making new friends. Craft time was fun time as they get to decorate on their mini glass bottle with sea sponging technique. The children get to learn how to make ice-cream during the science experiment “chemistry kitchen” and was the happiest when learning how to play the ukulele.

They were also entertained with singing and music performance with 30 children from 4 community-based schools.

During the March and June school holidays 54C organised a programme of English activity days for the children of YTL staff. Both days were a great success with 25 children attending the first day and 45 children at the second. The aim of the programme was to provide the children with opportunities to experience the sessions that we run at 54C, build friendships and have fun while learning.

"My daughter had fun and enjoyed the activities. Thank you for organising a great day for her to learn and play!"

The programme was kicked off with an engaging Speech & Drama session where the children were introduced to drama and learnt about the ‘Still Image’ drama technique. They had so much fun with games that aim to help develop creativity, concentration and group cooperation.

Hup Lick Publisher delivered an engaging, interactive science experience workshop. The children actively participated in the science experiments which included learning how to inflate a balloon without using their mouth!

“Please enrol me for the next event, I’ve made so many friends in such a short time.”
The children participated in a sign language workshop, where they learnt to sign the alphabet and greetings. We had wonderful, entertaining performances from Alice Ballet and a local choir who also played their Ukuleles!

We would like to thank all those who contributed to providing such a range of workshops and learning opportunities for the children. Thank you also to all the staff who encouraged their children to attend.

We look forward to seeing you at our next 54C event.
