Beyond financial assistance, the Foundation offers ample opportunities for scholars, including leadership development programmes and valuable networking prospects. As someone with low self-esteem, the trainings have helped me to better understand my strengths and weaknesses especially when it comes to communicating with people.

Raised in a humble household, I faced my own set of challenges and found solace in the loving care of my grandmother. Though grateful for her nurturing presence, I often harboured doubts about my worth and potential due to my background. Limited access to academic resources further complicated matters. Growing up in a small town in Penang where Hokkien was the primary language spoken, and the community was predominantly Chinese, I had to work extra hard. I even joined a special class to improve my Bahasa Melayu and English after struggling in my UPSR exam.

Despite these challenges, I embarked on a journey that would shape my destiny. Pushing myself beyond limits, I achieved remarkable success in my SPM exams, securing A+ grades in both Bahasa Melayu and English and earning the esteemed title of SPM Scholar in 2018. Throughout this journey, I was fortunate to have encouraging and inspiring figures guiding me, including some of my secondary school teachers and mentors who not only provided invaluable advice but also instilled core values within me.

From a young age, I believed in the transformative power of education. Achieving outstanding results in my SPM examination further reinforced this belief, earning me the honour of being named the SPM Scholar of my school. My academic achievements continued with a perfect CGPA of 4.00 in my STPM, leading to the prestigious STPM Best Student Award bestowed by the Penang State Government in 2020. These accomplishments opened doors to my dream destination—the esteemed Faculty of Law at the University of Malaya. However, my aspirations extend beyond academia, as I actively participate in extracurricular and volunteering activities to foster holistic growth.

These experiences have equipped me with invaluable soft skills, broadening my comprehension beyond textbooks. My journey of self-discovery and personal growth persists, as evidenced during internship with the Deputy Education Minister, YB Lim Hui Ying, and an internship with The Honourable Justice Dato' Mary Lim at the Federal Court, Palace of Justice in Putrajaya. Each obstacle has shaped me into a more resilient and adaptable individual, fuelling my unwavering determination to seize every opportunity for growth. My journey has taught me that our circumstances do not define us; it is our actions and choices that shape our destiny.
Upon discovering that YTL extends its scholarship to law undergraduates, I initially considered the YTL Foundation Scholarship Programme to alleviate the financial strain of my studies. As my mother was faced with financial constraints, I initially applied for the PTPTN loan to finance my studies, but I was still struggling to cover other living expenses. Receiving the YTL Foundation Scholarship gave me the breakthrough to continue pursuing tertiary education.

Beyond financial assistance, the Foundation offers ample opportunities for scholars, including leadership development programmes and valuable networking prospects. As someone with low self-esteem, the trainings have helped me to better understand my strengths and weaknesses especially when it comes to communicating with people. Through the network of YTL Foundation Scholars, I believe these connections will be invaluable for my professional development as a legal student.

Additionally, YTL's involvement in various industries may expose me to diverse legal scenarios, further enriching my learning experience. I eagerly anticipate the internship opportunities and new experiences to contribute to the YTL Group and society at large.
