In January 2021, we collaborated with Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMBC) Malaysia to sponsor face masks and computers for students at selected schools. We also went a step further to partner Edspace, a social enterprise that employed impoverished mothers as seamstresses, to manufacture the masks for this initiative. A total of 10,459 face masks were provided to students at the height of the pandemic.

Together, YTL Foundation and SMBC also donated a total of 206 laptops, each accompanied with a 12-month data plan, to SK Sungai Udang, SMK Sultan Ismail, SK Intan Baiduri, SK Sungai Nyior, SK Kerteh, SK Danau Kota, and SK Dato Keramat 2, allowing students to learn from home and at school.
